Eleva is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing previously inaccessible biologics based on a breakthrough moss-based technology platform. Our team of around 50 people lives an open, appreciative corporate culture and is working to bring new therapeutic options to patients around the world. We are looking for you to join our process development team and help us expand and develop our technologies as soon as possible.

What you will do
  •  You will work on the Media optimization and process understanding for our moss Upstream technology.
  • You will exploit the full potential of the expression system and support the team in developing a robust and scalable Upstream technology.
  • Your tasks will include experimental work for media optimization, metabolic analysis of cultivation samples, and theoretical work for the understanding of cell metabolism in moss cell cultures.
  • You will work closely with other R&D departments. By doing so, you will actively contribute to interdisciplinary work and provide practical support in the laboratory. We are a dynamic and, above all, very collaborative company in which we support each other in driving our projects forward and creating a unified perspective on our technology.
What to bring
  •  You are currently pursuing a Master degree with a mandatory internship semester in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • You have initial experience in the field of upstream processing, particularly in fermentation and cell culture, or bring a high level of readiness to learn.
  • You have an understanding of cell metabolism and protein expression, or be willing to learn.
  • You have gained first experience with research work and you are able to design, set up, and execute experiments independently.
  • You have a structured and solution-oriented approach to your work, are a team player, and show initiative in actively improving processes.
  • You communicate fluently in English, have basic knowledge of German, and work confidently in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • You are proficient in MS Office and ideally have experience with software solutions for design of experiments and data analysis.
What you can expect
  • We foster a respectful, collaborative environment at all levels.
  • As a student intern, you can expect an attractive expense allowance.
  • You will be given 2 days of paid time off for every full month of the internship.
  • Our Freiburg facility offers good public transport connections, as well as car and bicycle parking spots.
  • For your meals, we have an in-house canteen.
